For Nokia Users
>> Nokia released a few applications to improve the compatibility with their own Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit. In some cases, this Nokia software may improve the compatibility with the EGO Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kits as well. Please note that we don't provide support for Nokia software. IMPORTANT:
You need a Bluetooth enabled computer with Microsoft Windows XP or Vista in order to update your EGO Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit.
We recommend the JWIN JB-TH101 Bluetooth dongle found here if your computer does not have Bluetooth built in. If your computer has Bluetooth already built-in, please disregard this note.

Please follow these steps to update your EGO FLASH and EGO LOOK:

1. Please turn on your EGO FLASH or EGO LOOK
2. Go to "Settings" --> "Information"
3. Scroll down to “SW Version:”
   
   >> If the version is lower than 9.0.10774, please download the latest EGO software here and follow the instructions.
   
   >> If the version is 9.0.10774 or higher, your EGO is up to date.
   
   >> If you specifically need athe older version 8.10.10142, then you can download that version of  EGO software here and follow the instructions.

Warning! Once updated to firmware 9.0+, there is no going back to the previous firmware. This update is primarily a fix for iPhone and Blackberry Bold phones. Some models of phones  with bluetooth profile 2.1 may have issues of compatibility. It is suggested that version 8.10 be used for phones other than the iPhone and Blackberry Bold at this time.

9.0.10774 Bugfixes:
- Accept / reject the waiting call (call waiting indication)
- Music player not displayed automatically
Features:
- Announcement of the connected device following connection / oder: following dial-up
- Setting of the menu language as per factory settings
- Once the call is disconnected, music is continued from the iPod from where it left off
- Support for the Blaupunkt CDM microphone (active microphone)
- Mobile phone navigation voice output via the car speakers
Features (mobile phone-dependent):
- Incoming call announcement: announcement of the caller
- Display of the phone’s own number in the directory
- Name sorting by first name / surname (PBA profile)

EGO Bluetooth hands-free car kits support 99% of all available Bluetooth enabled mobile phones. 

The remaining 1% consists of mobile phones with very limited Bluetooth connectivity, such as older, 1st generation Bluetooth mobile phones. A very small number of the newer mobile phones are not compatible with Bluetooth accessories or offer limited Bluetooth functionality, due to the fact that they don't conform to the current Bluetooth standards.

Please note:

• Some phones have limited Bluetooth capabilities (e.g. no phonebook download), which is dependent on the phone and carrier.
• The SMS download is only offered by the following manufacturers: Sony Ericsson, some Motorola and Nokia mobile phones.
• We test phones periodically and publish the test results. If your mobile phone is not on the list, doesn't imply that your phone is not supported. It simply means that we haven't tested it yet.
